A beautiful smaller community set in a forest...

I'm a born and bred Californian and have lived mostly in the Northern California Sierra foothill communities ( Chico area ) with a short stint in LA for school, and then 30+ years in Silicon Valley before moving to Prescott a few months ago. We have owned property here since the mid 80's thinking this was a perfect place to retire, and I can now confirm that assumption as correct, at least for us. I was becoming aggravated with the now one-sided and offensive politics in my state and that prompted our escape. I think we've found nirvana at least for the time being. People here are all friendly and open, and not concerned with adhering to a politically correct, coercive requirement that's ubiquitios in California's larger communities. Ahhh.... This is a somewhat small and beautiful community, set in one of the nation's largest forests, with over 500 miles of nature trails, It both far enough, and close enough to several metro areas and close to many interesting places to spend in various day-trips and adventures. The home of the world's oldest Rodeo, and the picture of true conservative Americana...
