Review of Raleigh, North Carolina

North Raleigh, NC
Star Rating - 3/28/2011
We have thoroughly enjoyed our 20 years in north Raleigh, NC. It is still a great place for a growing family. During that time, the infrastructure and amenities have continued to expand and improve: roads, bridges, schools, restaurants, sports, entertainment, major shopping. US 540 now makes travel to RTP, RDU, and other neighboring communities fast. Weather is generally milder than most parts of the US with a mix of 4 seasons. Like most other US metro areas, communication is amazingly sophisticated and readily available. Due to zoning, houses are generally close enough to develop neighbor relationships but far enough apart for a quiet evening on the back deck, and observation of abundant wildlife. The environment has demonstrated a remarkable, thorough recovery from the occasional damage of hurricanes and storms.
