Cost of Living and Unemployment Much Higher...

The figures really need to be adjusted to truly reflect this area's economic standing. Deschutes county has 8% unemployment, and that figure I believe is low. The cost of living is outrageous, the cost of housing is a joke. They've been spinning this area for the last five years to get people who sold their California homes to move here, claiming there were tons of jobs and great weather, etc. All lies - they even hired a marketing firm - that should tell you something!
If anyone out there is looking to relocate to the area - seriously visit throughout the year - and talk to real people, not city or county officials.
