(Caveating everything with "it's Bay Area prices")
Redwood City is a large sprawling town where you can find just about anything you're looking for. There's great food, cute cafes, pretty waterfronts, cool gyms (like Inspiration Studios), big parks (like Red Morton and Stulsaft) and fun events (Oktoberfest just passed). It's right in between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, which makes it equally close and equally far to get to city life and work (it's great when there's no traffic and equally miserable when there is). Downsides are that the nearest malls are a bit far, there are some seedy areas throughout and the parks are a bit far from downtown so it's not as great a place to hangout as it could be. Overall, really enjoy living here!
