Ha! I’ve lived in Reno for 44 years and have only seen one rattlesnake and that was on the cart path of a rural golf course. Despite living on the perfect potential snake homestead of 5 acres of natural landscaping, mostly sagebrush with a year-round creek and plenty of very small critters just south of Downtown ( the city has grown around me the last 44 years). We are a high desert with an elevation of 4500 feet…although they can live in altitudes above 9000 feet it’s probably not their preferred climate. California has a widespread rattlesnake problem and 40 million people live there. I lived in California for over 20 years. Much worse. I also sit on the public health board for our county and I’ve never heard any issues about snakes that we needed to address
