Climate

I have lived in Sandwich for 2 decades now and am seriously thinking of moving to New Mexico, primarily due to the disparatness in climate. New Mexico has relatively LOW humidity. In Sandwich, it is STIFFLING.....and become unbearable. I have arthritis, degenerative disc disease, osteoporosis and MS.....for a start......all of which will benefit from a climate that is low in humidity.
On my two trips out there, one in the beginning of August....while the temps were HIGH....there was no humidity. And my soggy bones were dry and able to move my body.
IF we get a spring....it either rains the entire spring....or it is still freezing and snowing (like this spring)....i think i have had 2 real springs in the 20 years. maybe 3. Summer is either frazzlingly hot, like this summer. Or it is cloudy all the time. Just like the song.
The winter can be terrific, as long as it doesn't get too cold or snow too much. Neither happened last year. We had a TERRIBLE STORM (Sandy) and the previous years were not much better. The problem is that the snow is WET now. It's impossible to shovel. (I have a 90 foot driveway and an 85 foot walkway) It often takes me an entire day, into the evening....to shovel my whole driveway.
Also....I'm almost 60 and disabled. And other neighbors, who are healthy and who have been here at least 15 years....NEVER offer to help me do ANYTHING. They don't even both on checking on me or the elderly woman who lives one house up.
The people are just like the climate: cold and irritable....changeable.....never what you like it to be.....etc.well, at least the weather isn't snobby
