Read Thomas Sowell's book "Basic Economics", to learn about the second order effects of "living wages", "affordable housing", etc. Also, look up the three "green" cities that FDR build as part of his socialist experimentation. The problem overall with these issues is that they look like good things to do, but their long-term effects are quite the oppposite of their intentions.
