Crime
Star Rating - 10/4/2008
It is a shame that we have a tolerance for the type of crime that affects all people and is being allowed to grow like a cancer in our communities.
What am I talking about? INTIMIDATION! There is a obvious style of promoting fear and at the least, stress promoting dress and behavior. I have had conversation with many friends and aquaintances that believe the same. What is this style or behavior? Take a good hard evaluation look at what INTIMIDATION dress and behavior is in this community....Dark sunglasses at night (not the blind) hooded sweat clothes, jackets in black (pulled up over heads) during hot weather, crotch grabbing while looking directly into bystanders eyes without expression, just a stare. Language from our youth (10-25) speaking *&%^#@*&**%#! in a Theatre, Mall, School, Restaurant etc. without the slightest concern for anyone within hearing distance, including young children and elderly, or anyone. Why do we not say something when we hear the "F word, the "B" word, the "N" word, or any of the "Words" that are offensive? Everyone recognizes INTIMIDATION behavior, but because of either a misguided interpretation of "Individual expression of personal preferences" or just plain FEAR, we look the other way and just allow the INTIMIDATION to continue. What does this do to our friendly open expression of living? Well it minimizes greetings, politeness, thankfulness and general human kindness. How, just take a look at what verbal communication goes on when there are "INTIMIDATERS" standing at social events such as Sports, Arts, Education, Music events promote. Redirecting eyecontact, walking paths, entrances to venues and actually making a decision "NOT" to go someplace because of what "Might" happen because of feeling the Intimidation projected by the few. I am a firm believer and promoter of individual freedoms. I have and will fight for the rights of freedom of personal belefs and goals. What is obvious to everyone is what the few are doing with this freedom in the Seattle area..It doesn't take a genious to recognize how much this area has declined from a friendly, open communication, free traveling neighborhood enviornment to a suspecios, fearful, protective jungle. It starts at home with the family, what we promote and tolerate is what becomes the adult standard. We all need to take our society back from the INTIMIDATORS.
We don't need more laws, just inforce the one's we have.
