Review of Seattle, Washington

Attitude and livability
Star Rating - 10/4/2008
If you are thinking of moving here, I would highly advise against it. Seattle is or rather used to be a fantistic place to live, before "Sunset" magazine reported what a great place it was. Ever notice when someone is telling you of all the great places to live, it is never where they live? That's because it is like giving some place the "kiss of death". Yes, we do have a better than normal educated population. {After all, we've always known what a great place we were living in}. The majority of the poplation were natives and it was very friendly, yes, even to outsiders! After Sunset's artical however, it seemed like every low life, opportunistic, or developement crazy started to move here, especially Californicators and East Coast Snobs. They all talked about the terrible things they had left behind and immediatly started trying to change it back into that exact place, all the while making a dollar off of every thing in sight. Yes, we have/had wonderful a natural enviroment all around us, and the rest of the state as far as that goes, what's left that hasn't been been paved over, developed, torn down or cut down to improve view's for some over priced developement. The night life, musical enviroment and entertainment opptions were great. Several famous musicians used to visit here to relax and several other's got there start here. Prices were very affordable and many of the amenities, public and other wise were free, {I grew up on Green Lake and used to walk through Woodland Park Zoo on my way to and from school}, till outsiders started crying about what ecnomic opprotunities

I lived in Seattle for 10 years before moving to San Francisco. I got stuck down here w/ not enough funds to relocate but I'm trying to sort out where to go. I think alot depends on your age, your health, if you have kids, what your income is, what makes you 'tick' in life. I loved Seattle when I lived there, but then I've always enjoyed every place I've lived for many different reasons. Despite SF beauty it's a very challenging place for me to live economically. Parking sucks. People have become very rude. If you dont earn a min $100K you're going to struggle more. Every single person I know between early 20's - 3o's, lives w/ roomates, they cant afford to live alone. So isnt Seattle less to live in vs SF????
