Why You Gonna Lie?

Let me repeat my title, Why you gonna lie, seriously?! I just moved here from Indiana two months ago, not far from the previous post about Tennessee. Seattle is a haven for artists, liberals, free thinkers, fun lovers and flat out hippies--rich ones! We have Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing and many other fantastic companies that pump money into our economy.
I have never felt so at home since I moved here. Yes my 'twang' has been commented on and we've laughed about it. If you're conservative and not comfortable with diversity then you may not fit in well here--and I mean diversity--as people of every belief system, fashion sense, not to mention ethnicity and orientation live here. I think to live and love here requires a live and let live outlook, an acceptance of everyone (twang is included), an ability to carry on an intelligent conversation and a love and respect of nature.
To the people that say it rains all the time, I appreciate you spreading that message because it helps keep our touristy areas manageable, simply because if people knew how actually beyond gorgeous it is here The Underground Tour and the Space Needle would be over run!
Perhaps, my fellow ex-Midwesterner, you simply haven't met the right people. Also we only attract what we are, and when you love yourself and can laugh about your own differences people will laugh with you, not at you. Welcome to Seattle, by the way! :o) I hope you begin to see the beauty that surrounds you, in the mountains and the people!
