There's no place like home

I've lived in Seattle full time for 17 years and love it more as time passes. For me I love my neighborhood (and several other neighborhoods) and my community. The city at large has its ups and downs but I never tire of the beauty, the creativity, and the people. I love the proximity to nature and so many other wonderful towns and cities. There is so much to do.
The growing pains have been challenging for sure. We are at the beginning of a 5 year period referred to as "Maximum Constraint" where traffic will be incredibly challenging while a number of massive projects are completed. Our city council has not effectively addressed the homelessness and has demonstrated disappointing leadership in a number of ways. Housing is pricey but the MHA 1 program should start bringing real relief in the area of median income and affordable housing.
All of this to say, I know it is far from perfect, but I love this place and want to be a part of the exciting solutions in the present and the future. The Emerald City certainly isn't for everyone but for me it is home like I've never known and there is no place like it.
