From a retired person's point of view. Seattle has a lot to offer in the way of the arts, theater, and a variety of neighborhoods. Public transportation is especially convenient and inexpensive, especially in the greater Seattle metro area, for seniors - 50 cents even round trip within 2.5 hours. It is true there are fewer sunny days than in many parts of California, but also more moderate temperatures for those who don't like long hot summers nor very cold windy winters.
