Review of Seattle, Washington

As a Cajun from Louisiana state
Star Rating - 6/22/2019
It's a dump. It is only a city made to feed off and take from it's own people. The people here are not at all intelligent. They think they are smart but they aren't. They will harass you if you are not an Atheist, or Left-winger or embrace Politically correct multiculturalism. They will harass you if you are found out to be from the South. Especially Louisiana state. Very rude and obnoxious city, probably worse people than Paris or Ontario. Go ahead and annex yourselves to Canada, Washington state. If you Seattlites really want it. I'm a 14th generation Cajun. My lineage was here since the 17th century. So don't you people dare blame me or tell ME what to do with MY life. Some of you are people from all over the USA (as transplants) and even around the world. I'm a white man who's had ancestors for centuries on this continent, very archaic lineage all the way from Canada in Nova Scotia. Go away. Trust me, Nobody down here (in Louisiana) likes you or will ever miss you. We are sick and tired of Seattle, we want nothing to do with you people and are tired of paying for you all. If a civil war ever happened in the USA, it would probably break out in Seattle. Quite possibly. It's a burden city and we are sick and tired of the bad influence on the rest of this country that this nation holds. They're all pinko's (communist/capitalist mix) and also have no morals. This is the most unamerican place you will ever find. Only good for the pretty scenery which is why is gets two stars. If I could remove all of the people, it would be good. The people here like cut-throat competition and feeding energy off and getting over on their own employees too. And they will set-up situations and try to make it look like you are the problem. And then you get fired...even for all the hard work...and for not doing anything...just for jealousy. Such pathetic people. I'm really mad at the people who do business in this city. Very ungrateful people that will take advantage of your kindness, talents and patronize you. They are so bad they even harass Polish immigrants as well. Just because Poland is a mostly right-wing nation; that's how sad and pathetic this city actually is. I was employed here once and I got let off pretty easy, even when I did most of the work for the newly established organization. I got absolutely no promotions and later found out it was rigged and predetermined for others. (they were just looking for a professional to kickstart their organization into success, which I did.) The reason was nothing but pure jealousy. They just fired me and ostracized me. Leaving me to have no friends in the dust. To make a long story short. Took all my hard work and got very little money in return. Pretended to be my friend, used all of my hard-work to build up their successful organization. cut-throat competition and then fired. I GOT ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIT FOR IT! (their success) Nothing on my name, no mentioning of me whatsoever in the credits. All of my hard work stolen. Just a few money payouts and then an unexpected firing. I shudder to think that I once attributed such importance and put hard work and effort and associated myself with these leaden sanctimonies. How naive was I to think that these people would be worth working for? And as for being Intelligent? None of the people here are intelligent at all. I had several people calling me a redneck, racist and a low IQ person once they found out I had Cajun ancestry. (isn't that racism itself? If I am a Cajun scientist, how would I have a low IQ? Think about it?) Seattlites speak for the useless, but talentless so-called "American" millions that ever lived. Don't worry, don't read my review- take a look at some of the (delusional) definitions already here, and you will get the full flavor of the so-called Seattle "mystique". Only visit this city for the nature or if you need a laugh at the people, for they are something really bizarre, juvenile and pathetic.

Edit: Here's an interesting fact for you Seattlites out there. I used to know Matt Lukin of the Seattle band Mudhoney and even smoked pot with him once way back in the 80's at a high school in a city right outside Seattle called "MONTESANO". So that should give me atleast some credibility. I played drums in a few bands out there and jammed with Ament's band Deranged Diction, don't remember any of the names of most of the bands though. I was in my early 20s. Never told anyone of Cajun ancestry and nobody noticed it. I have a big Cajun family that lives in the Seattle area, and another group that live in Redding, Northern California. So I DO have some sort of clue and know whats going on in the Pacific Northwest: so don't YOU people get all "smartass" to me just yet. I've also known a few from Portland as well. Portland, Vancouver Seattle - Most of the Pacific NW. Let's see: the Ross couple. (I was introduced to them through Page Hamilton's brother, Grant Hamilton. "Seafood Mama: or Quarterflash, were one of my first concerts. And Page went onto form his own band in NYC called "Helmet". I knew Grant Hamilton, I met a lot of these people way back then. Many of the ones in the punk scene. I was a drummer for a while, but sadly no talent. Catholics are liberals and I was a Democrat back then, just so you all know.)

I might have ran into Kurt Cobain once, but I can't say that I did.

I did not like my friendships very much with Portland or Seattle people, they are all very "love/hate" people in terms of relationships and tend to be two-faced and backstabbing.

"I’m sorry liberals hurt your feelings and didn’t acknowledge your one and only accomplishment of being a white “red blooded American”, but that doesn’t change the fact that liberals have done an excellent job making Seattle an economic powerhouse and a great place to live." No, not at all. If you remember, not many decades ago, Louisiana was mostly a Democrat voting state while Washington state was actually a Republican voting state. Now today, about 50 or more years later, it's the exact opposite. I have no idea with what this actually has with me being a white man, though. That means that some of my Cajun ancestors voted Democrat. And they did. And if you took a look more carefully at the Demographics of Louisiana, most of the people who commit murders and crimes are blacks. It isn't racist for me to espouse facts- Yes, Black on black crime. It isn't Amerindians. It isn't mostly white people. It is mostly black on black crime. And if liberals think they have what it takes to turn this state into a prosperous state, more power to them- but I would expect little improvement. Louisiana has always been a crooked state since post-WW2. We whites down here (especially Cajuns) have mostly nothing to do with that.

Most Democrats are too brainwashed to realize that their version of history is incorrect. Republicans may be too. But that isn't the issue. Hell, mine probably is. But, I'm sure I'm still more in touch with reality than they are. I've lived it. I don't go around making false promises and lying to people. I've seen what kind of trouble that can get people in. Not all of us down here owned slaves, and definitely not all of us believe that other races are inferior to whites.

Seattlites and other Americans who are fans of Seattle do not recognize it for what it is: Seattle's thoughts are their thoughts. They do not realize that this city is all just an illusion. My vote for one of the most dreadful "cities" to ever be incorporated into the United States. A failed establishment that is soon going down to the toilet, at last.

To Linda: So what is your conclusion? These people have always used me for my own abilities and have always talked bad about me. I see no reason why I was the one who was apparently turned into the asshole. When I got set-up by a corrupt individuals, this was the last straw - and I'm never talking to people from Seattle ever again. You've made some points about Louisiana, but some people down here are just a lot warmer or welcoming. So they do not understand that they are bothering you. And as I mentioned before, we've voted Democrat before. I think the city just picked me out because I had Cajun heritage, and they made that an easy target and excuse to exploit me. Seattle and the NW, it's definitely not the place it used to be in the early to mid 80s.

Wow, my last reply did not seem to post but maybe this one will. Sir, you strike me as refreshing. I remember the days living in Houston before I moved here, it is so ragin cajun there. You are soooooo totally correct. Seattle is way missing out on lifestyle and humanitarianism. And especially FOOD. I miss my southern hide outs. Souper Salad buffet etc. Listen. I am really from Kansas City but I looked up Shreveport, LA and was amazed at all the cheap places to rent, only $100 per month on Zillow. I am not familiar with Louisiana, but trust me.....when the minimum wage FINALLY goes up, the south will prosper. Nice folk who tell the truth about what is really happening. And plenty of competition because flooding is an Act of God. For you readers, anyone that sees this, Seattle is a hood for tear-down construction now and that is it. Cannibalism in all categories. Problem is, I don't see Seattle as paying their debt in the long run and I think it will continue to be scavengers in all categories. People who file bankruptcy and live off the vulnerable. Pretty soon there will probably be a humongous Cancer Center in North Everett and a bunch of academia and patients paying all the bills. University of Washington is anchored in North Everett now and it will soon be a metropolis of medical and academia scavenging off the federal governement. Real estate prices will continue to displace people in Seattle and the surrounding areas. Eventually they will hit up the federal governement to fix their freeway shortage and it will be more housing construction north toward Canada. There is no hope in sight, trust me. Prepare for the exodus of poor folk leaving the area and dismantled families. I see another Enron on the way. Attract and then discard. Scandalous. Just so you guys know Zillow is anchored in Seattle (correct me if I am wrong) and they have ALL the inside information. You can't win for trying in Seattle.

Interesting perspective. Smoking pot with Matt Lukin (I mean you could have said Kurt Cobain, who cares) gives you credibility to judge the city and region. I was born and raised in Seattle (67 years old) and have seen a lot of changes over the years. Every Urban Cities caters to the young and Seattle is no different. Most coastal Urban Enclaves attract a percentage of loafers and indigents looking for a handout. You probably don't notice it much in the South because y'all are the most poverty ridden population in the US (Louisiana ranks 8th out of the 10 most impoverished States). I have friends who bemoan the "city they once knew" but get over it. Go retire where it is more conducive to your needs (oops, Seattle is #1 in best place for retirement). Let Seattle be what it is and enjoyed by those who like what it is...or make the effort to improve the social structure. I often hear comments visitors from smaller cities make about how "unfriendly" people are in Seattle. First of all, I worked in New Orleans for a while and it took me 2 hours to grocery shop for 2 items. It took 20 minutes just to get from my car into the store as I was stopped repeatedly by strangers who wanted to chat, "How ya doin', How's ya mama, How's ya...." then the cashier had to carry on with every customer ad nauseam. No one has any sense of urgency, which is why they are still cleaning up after Katrina 15 years later. But, that's the culture. Just because it irritated me doesn't give me the right to say they are just a bunch of lazy, chatty morons. Here's the sad part of the commentary on this website. It is clear that everyone is so caught up in My City is Better Than Your City and My City Was Great Before Other People Came in and Stunk it UP that there is no objective information, which defeats the purpose. We all live in the USA and can come and go as we please. The cities don't belong to me, I belong to them and am able to roam until I find contentment. Stop judging the people and the city and stick to the facts. One more thing regarding the homeless and drug addicts...I am working for the summer in a small town, small county (won't say what State) and the homelessness and drug abuse (mostly meth and pot) is rampant. Do some research on rural America and you will be shocked at the numbers.

Well I have to agree with you. Having been from one end of America to the other and top to bottom, literally, Seattle ranks as the place most over rated. Scenery is beautiful when it's not covered in fog for dank drizzle, but the people are some of the rudest, most unfriendly, self obsessed, superficial people in all the 50 states I've traveled through. So Ok, I'm from Maryland, where kindness, courtesy and a thing called manners is the common currency of day to day affairs, out here in Seattle these qualities are virtually unheard of.

Seattle: - Legalized weed - Paid maternity AND paternity leave - Net neutrality protections - Avg family income 27K above national average - 3.3% unemployment rate - Ranked 1st best US city to live overall - Ranked 2nd in US for infrastructure - Ranked 3rd in US for economy - Ranked 4th in US for education - Ranked 4th in US for health care - Ranked 6th in US for startup economy - Ranked 7th in US for career opportunity Seattle is objectivity a great place to live by just about every measurement. I’m sorry liberals hurt your feelings and didn’t acknowledge your one and only accomplishment of being a white “red blooded American”, but that doesn’t change the fact that liberals have done an excellent job making Seattle an economic powerhouse and a great place to live. Now I ask you to check out the same statistics for literally any other red stronghold major city and let me know how they compare to Seattle. Heck, just for the fun of it, let’s look at your home, Louisiana, a long-time Conservative stronghold: - Ranked 45th in education - Ranked 48th in healthcare - Ranked 49th in economy - Ranked 48th in infrastructure - Ranked 43rd in job stability - Ranked WORST in the US for the following: - - Career opportunity - - Crime - - Environmental quality Louisiana fails in just about every measure to take care of its citizens. Unfortunately, that’s precisely why you think the way that you do. You and your family have been disenfranchised for generations by GOP politicians, the very people that teach you that left leaning people are the root of all of your sorrows. It’s a great tactic for them, they get to do everything wrong without you even noticing because you’re too busy frothing at the mouth over people liberals. You would think that at some point, you’d question why your state continues to decay despite all of the promises you’ve been told, but I guess that propaganda really works.

I am from Yakima, Wa. I left 16 years ago. Seattle, was always more democrat. I was there from 1988 to 1991 and I saw it, five years ago and it had become scary. It was like NYC only more slummy. Amazed, from the Seattle I knew and how it became.

I'm the review a few pages down entitled "Seattle-Miserable Town." I'm from Louisiana, too. My Dad is from Lafourche Parish. I grew up in the French Quarter in an apartment building my parents purchased. I moved up to Seattle, too, and hated the town, the people the laughable multicultural stupidity.
