Pretentious, cold, Seattle quickly gets old

I've lived in Seattle 8 years and, despite my passion for the outdoors, consider it a huge mistake to have moved here. (I'm stuck for now.) The gorgeous scenery is almost 'mocking' in its contrast to the true ugliness of the people (with precious few exceptions). They are cold, pretentious control freaks who cannot tolerate differences of opinion on even the most mundane matters(despite their desperate calls for 'diversity'... yet the majority of the population is economically well-off & white--go figure). Add to this, commuting is LA-awful, cost of living is excessively high, and the job market isn't worth delving into unless you're a techy. What's really enigmatic is their constant bragging about what a 'World Class City' this is.
They respond to any criticism by blaming it on "Californians" who've moved here (not true -- I've lived there too)! Heed my advice and stay away! You've been warned!
