Looking for local relocation information

I am looking to relocate to the Seattle area from the Southern US. I would like some local input on the best area(s)in which to live. I'm single, so school systems and such are not big priorities at this time in my life. I want to be relatively close to all the city has to offer though. I would have no objection to living outside of Seattle as long as a smooth commute would be possible.
Comments/advise on this topic or any other that might help my relocation go smoothly are greatly appreciated.
