Review of Spanish Lake, Missouri

North County aka NoCo
Star Rating - 9/30/2010
I grew up in North County until age 18. I've seen a few of what I would like to call propoganda reviews, and figured I would shine some light on the situation. A number of reviews here have clustered the quality areas of West County and South County in with North County. I can assure you, anyone making that assessment is ignorant of the quality of life available in North County. Gangs are still prevelant and numerous. From the Treetop Bloods, to Six-O, Folk, Posse Up, etc. Violence and destruction are the norm. The crapholes they like to call apartment complexes are actually controlled by gangs.(i.e. Countryside = Crips while Colonial Meadows = Bloods) There are some nice Private Schools available such as Salem Elementary and Grace Chapel. However, the public schools are atrocious. I can recall numerous occasions where teachers were arrested for fornicating with students, distributing drugs, etc. I can also recall teachers who were committing said activities and never got caught/punished. Some might say it's not a neighborhood where you want to leave your doors unlocked. People whom have lived there know it's not a neighborhood where you want to leave your alarm unarmed and gun unloaded. If you have other options, take them. I know a LOT of quality people who came out of North County. Raising a family there isn't an impossibility, and not everyone is a scary intruder. My point is, there are much better options that are still in close proximity.

Children per teacher
I live in Spanish Lake & the ratio per teacher is not 15 students! It's more like 25 to 3...
