Tampa's Great

I have to agree and say that Tampa is great. I have lived here for three years now moving from the Philly-Balt area. The weather is good and sunny most of the time. Winters are perfect and while a little hot in the summer no worse than living in the Mid-Atlantic in the summer. 95% humidity is 95% humidity where you live.
The roads are great and they are always improving them. I know because I drive over 50 miles to get to Tampa each day. There is no comparison to driving in a major city either east or west coast. I drive 80 miles an hour compared to 40+ up north. I slow down a few times on my one hour commute but it is nothing compared to NY, DC or LA. The congestion is minimal and the roads are great. I suspect that some of the posters are a little younger and may not know how good they have it (me mid 40’s).
The views are better with palm trees and plants everywhere. My wife and I always joke how up north they are proud where they concrete over some dirt on an intersection or repaint a rusty bridge. Here it is a full landscaping project even on the highway. I guess the money they save from not removing snow goes into the landscaping.
Houses are cheaper and schools are better than they are up north. My house is 100SF more on 4 times the land and on a larger lake for the same price I had up north. Both were brand new. FLA limits the number of children to 17 in a schools classroom. There is no income tax and property taxes are less than Philly and Baltimore without the industrial wasteland scenery. I see beautiful skies, exotic birds, and rainbows when I drive. Up north I saw things that fell off of cars: mufflers, tires, mirrors, etc. Not even close.
The locals are great compared to up north. People are happier because they live here, can go to the beach or fish every day. Yes there are OK some people who I could live without but again no comparison to up north. The police are cool unless you are a law breaker. Then you are out of luck. I love it because of the lawlessness of the Mid-Atlantic. If you need more info luffer4U at yahoo dot com.
