I too have been stuck in the "sunshine state" for far to long due to marriage and the ever crumbling economy. The poor quality of life that folks from here accept is frightening. Tampa has all of the big city problems (crime, high housing costs, poor schools, failing roadways, etc) without any of the benefits. Shopping is reserved for strip center chains and you cannot walk ANYWHERE!!! There is a cultural and ever growing educational void that is present daily. Please reconsider before you leave any midwest or northeast location...........its really fun for spring break but seriously do you want to raise kids here?
