I moved to Tampa, FL in 1993 from Westchester County, New York. I fell in love with the beaches and the climate (for the most part). I have enjoyed a good lifestyle in Florida, one that I would not have been able to afford in New York. I've seen lots of growth and Tampa offers a little of everything. Eventually I would like to move to a State that is not quite as hot and humid so that I can spend more time outdoors hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, etc.
