I had to laugh when I read some of the comments posted regarding living in Tampa, FL. Since, it is one of the cities I am interested in moving to. I have to agree with Alex's comments. Born and raised in Chicago and in the travel industry I have been around. Complaints about air quality, crime, cost of housing, and undesirable people. Try living up here with the high cost of living, crime, housing, horrible commuting times, (construction) shoveling your car out of snow drifts, freezing cold and paying the high cost of heating. Not to mention being cooped up indoors from November thru April! It's a dog eat dog environment here and there are no beautiful beaches to stroll along, unless you count fighting an hour or so of traffic, then try finding a parking space near downtown to get anywhere near the beaches of Chicago, which are closed half the time in the summer due to pollution! Our weather is so extreme. Last week it was 85 and today its 50! You have to be a tough breed to live here and its great for the young professionals and partiers that love the culture and diversity of the city, which has a lot to offer, but it also takes money to enjoy those activities, but after so many years it begins to wear you down. Living here is no longer exciting...just hard. I think I could definitely deal with your problems in Tampa!
