Twain Harte is California’s hidden gem! The town is adorable, hip and vibrant with a strong community feel. There is a community lake for swimming, paddle boarding, etc. with a snack bar and many nearby lakes. Summers are lively with live music on the streets, and plenty of weekend events. Black Oak Casino is 6 miles away and has all the fun stuff, with an amazing bowling alley as well. The concerts in the outdoor amphitheater are major acts and the grounds are great.
Although I loved her after my kids were grown, I’ve l Ky heard great things about the schools when speaking with young adults at local establishments. They’ve all raved about how great the schools were growing up around here and most said they’d want to raise there kids here too for that reason. They shared they have a very active program that keeps kids active in sports, art and music.
As for shopping, downtown has great gift shops, restaurants, fishing supplies and much more. Twain Harte market has an award winning deli and is a fabulous store.
Sonora is only 12 minutes away, having everything you need for shopping with all the big chain department stores, yet the historic downtown charm with all the boutique shops and great restaurants.
Dodge Ridge, for snow-skiers, is only a short 30 minute drive away and Yosemite is just about an hour drive. There are 4-5 waterskiing lakes all within 30 minutes. It’s a paradise for outdoor enthusiests.
