Review of Vallejo, California

If I could move I would
Star Rating - 10/1/2018
I would love to live in a place where there are not fireworks all year round or gunshots every night. Police are understaffed and overworked and this is coming from a Vallejo police officer. This city has potential and things are starting to happen very slowly but remember this is the fourth worst city in California for crime. FACT: LOOKUP STATISTICS. Maybe with new people moving in the trash that lives here will go someplace else. Cars doing burnouts/donuts all hours and lots of drugs. so, you decide if Vallejo is worth living in. 5/4/19 I need to add a few tidbits of some fun FACTS. You can now have ROOSTERS IN CITY LIMITS AND LET YOUR DOGS BARK ALL DAY AND NIGHT. YOU WILL NEED A TWO WEEK LOG OF TIMES AND DESCRIPTION OF BARKING DOGS AND FOUR PEOPLE TO SIGN A PAPER AND TWO MUST BE WILLING TO GO TO COURT. When all is said and done Solano County Sheriff's Animal Control will take the other side you're complaining about so they don't have to do their job! Nowhere else around Solano County will allow such insanity.

If you cant move out, why not make the best of it? wasting your energy on here talking mess about a city that is a home to you. You have to learn to love everything around you. There are much better places to live of course, i do agree with that but you have to understand having such a negative attitude about your home is not good for your well being. wish you the best of luck - Vallejoan

And we paid for you to live here?!! Are do you really live in Vallejo? It's my understanding that most city workers do not give Vallejo the courtesy of living here and appreciating people who look different from them. Maybe that is why the police have proven to be more violent than the citizens.

I feel your pain though honestly having been a resident of Vallejo since '93 though Vallejo has had it's share of crime. Many even high profile. It has not only gotten better with gentrification. There are honestly far worse places I can think of especially if you are speaking of crime. Please! Many talk about Old Town being skidrow! I mean really!? Try venturing into San Francisco Tenderloin or area around Los Angeles Union Station near City Hall & tell me if that's not any sleazier. No comparison. As for it being 4th most violent? In what way do you come up with that number? I feel much safer in Vallejo then I do in Richmond, Oakland, Stockon, or San Bernardino for that matter! Any city has it's good & bad. Be it people or yes neighborhood. Yes crime can sadly happen almost everywhere. My final point here being before I moved to Vallejo I rented in the quiet town of Millbrae. I worked nights too in 2 areas of San Francisco known for auto theft & boosting. All the time I've lived in Vallejo never had my vehicle broken into once. Yeah knock on wood it can happen just not yet! Living in the quiet town of Millbrae. Yep had a stereo ripped out of my truck. Bottom line before one is either real positive or negative about an area, please think over your response 1st. I know a lot can be based on experience. Then again so am I. Vallejo honestly no better or worse then other cities. After all it is a city. Will have city problems or issues. Then what or where doesn't?!

You're exaggerating and probably someone that never leaves the house. Secondly, Vallejo had the same crime rate as SF. It sucks to have crime but you make it sound like it's every minute of every day which just isn't true.

As a Vallejo Cop, your opinion is totally irrelevant as you too, are a part of the problem. Fun to listen to you whine though.

I got the crime information about Vallejo from a vallejo police officer! You’re talking about sections of cities having a lot of crime I’m talking about my front door. I do not walk after dark. Maybe you live in a better neighborhood then us. Idk @george

@JJ you are probably someone who is clueless to what is going on in Vallejo. Where you live should be a safe and livable place. One should not have to leave home to find peace. You must be new to the area.
