I have lived in Valley for 4 years and am planning on Moving soon. There is one day-care and I suggest you visit it 3 or 4 times before you decide to throw your children into it. It is horrible. They have no curriculum, they teach the 3-8 year olds what they 'Need' to know before kindergarten- such as the pledge of allegiance, among other things that are down right idiocracy for 3 Year olds to be memorizing words to something they don't even know the meaning of. My child was enrolled for 2 months before pulling her out of this daycare. There are home day cares Im sure but I cant say anything about those because I just don't know. The cost of living is cheap.
Omaha is right around the corner as well as Fremont. So if you need groceries its about a 5-25 trip either way. There isn't really anywhere to shop. They are trying to get a MainStreet Revival. The locals are welcoming to anyone they choose. The police won't ticket you if you live in town. If you want meth it's not hard to find just walk into the only gas station at any time and loiter for 5 minutes and you'll find yourself a hook up for drugs. Its pretty ridiculous. There seems no apparent fight on drug trafficking here, locals pretend it doesn't happen- But it does at high rates.
There is many new homes being built and those are mainly affordable to Upper Income families. Valley gives way to two Elderly Community homes which frankly aren't very good. Especially being a Nurse I could not work for either one.
This town is good for the Single Doctors, or Wealthy people who don't care about what goes on in the community.
Layers could be peeled off to see what really happens. I have a Sister who's lived in Valley for 10 years ago because her husband works in Omaha and thought it would be a nice place to raise the family away from the high crimes of Omaha but its just so close to Omaha she has found she was wrong.
The suicide rate in this town is high. As well as death toll.
Do your homework before moving here.
