In response to "Joe's" veiw on Victoria Texas

Well "Joe", you get out of life what you put into it. I myself have been transplanted to the Victoria area for almost 28 years now, and I had some of the same views as you on the "southern" hospitality I expected, but over time and having been here long enough to make new freinds, this town is not much different that any other place in the US. This town has things to offer if you take time to look, but without all of the trappings of a larger city as far as traffic jams and crime. As far as the small town feel, Victoria seems to be going through growing pains there too. I feel that there aren't many things to draw people to this town as a place to visit or a tourist stop, but we are on the way to other larger cities, and less than two hours away from several major airports and the things that Victoria should and probably will have one day. Change is inevitable and coming to this town, but don't get your hopes up that it will be happening soon.
