Wappapello Missouri an affordable with potential.

I recently purchased a small lake cabin in the area. The area is close to many sources of outdoor recreation. The town of Wappapello is very small (around 2400) in population. You will find there are some kept up homes while others have not been kept up and some are in ruin. The nearest large town is Poplar Bluff and shopping, dining, hotels are located there. Poplar Bluff is approximately 15 miles away. The city of St. Louis is 2 and 1/2 hours away. Many people would find Wappappello to be a suitable destination for retirement or lake home due to it's affordability. There are dozens of outdoor recreational activities and destinations to enjoy within 100 miles of Wappapello. The public areas around Lake Wappapello are well maintained. There is a new paved walking/bike trail and many upgrade to this system are in the works. Downsides to the area are the number of unmaintained residences and homes that have been left to fall down.
