The Color Gray

There are all shades of gray in Seattle, WA. It's not only the constant rain, and cloudy skies that make it seem so gray, but the people that live here too.
When my family moved here many years ago, I had to because I was a minor. Later in life I got married and had children. Prior to marriage, and after, I traveled half way around the world, and throughout the United States. So if I don't speak too kindly of Seattle, it's because I have many other places to compare it to.
When I first moved here, I found Seattlelites to be very prejudiced. (Especially the Scandinavian poputlation.) They are very judgemental, and I have never met so many people on anti-depressants. You find some that do ski, or participate in other sports, but for the most part, the population in Seattle, go from their homes to their cars, and that's how they travel everywhere. They lack social and communication skills, especially when it comes to speaking about politics. You BETTER be a Liberal, or else. They constantly disagree with whatever you say. If you say it's warm, they will say it's cold.
It's a very lonely place to live. People have more concern for their pets than their children.
The so called "Christians," in Seattle are the most hypocritical people that I have ever met. You either think and live as they do, or you are a sinner and they don't want anything to do with you. They are more concerned in everyone else's faults, and they lack to see their own.
Except for my family, I really feel that I have wasted my life here. The only way to be able to cope here is if, you can afford to travel whenever it becomes too much to take. Expect to stay home more than usual. People get sick of gray skies, rain, and grouchy people that are as tempermental as the weather. The truth is the truth, people in Seattle think they know it all, and you can always tell when you meet someone that isn't originally from Seattle, because they will be HAPPIER, FRIENDLIER, and have a sense of HUMOR. That is the way I was when I first arrived in Seattle.
Yes, there are some beautiful scenic views in Washington State, but it is over shadowed by the cold individuals that live here. People in Seattle are friendly when they want to know your business. I don't leave because my children are worth the sacrifice.
They are the only good thing that has happened to me in Seattle. I've lived in Ballard, Magnolia, Greenwood, Shoreline, Queen Anne and Edmonds, it's all the same. Friendlies
