Shifting Economy

The economy here is making a huge shift, and the many thousands of people who made good livings working in the automotive industry are the ones suffering, wreaking havoc on the local economy, pay wages, and unemployment rates. The domestic manufacturers are increasingly unable to compete with foreign manufacturers, and inflated wages here are going to bring the industry to its knees. Hopefully the increasing shift toward an economy focused on biomedical industries will bring the economy back to where it once was, or make it better! That being said, what's left here for all those laid-off automotive workers except debt and foreclosure?
