Having two kids with autism, I can tell you the train horns have been a disruption to our life in a way no one can imagine. Not only my kids have a hard time during the day and night, but at school when one of my kids is taking a test and he hears the train horns, he says he can't concentrate no more. We would like to move but we don't have the resources and to make the situation harder, my husband is a disabled veteran. You are spot on with the City Counsel, they don't care if the residents have to suffer because I don't think that any of them live close to the train tracks or since money talks, maybe they are getting paid by the train companies to stay quiet because that notion that the railroad noise is part of some romantic heritage is silly because this city has changed so much with so many new people from everywhere that if they think like that, they should not have the positions that they currently hold.
