Review of Etna, California

Eta is perfect retirement location
Star Rating - 12/29/2006
I moved to Etna in March 2005 from Riverside County in So. Calif. I quickly named the town the friendliest town in the west. Everyone waves, even if they have never seen you before; even youngsters wave as you drive by them. Being located just a few miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, it affords great opportunity for outdoor activity, fishing & hunting, photography, and winter sports. Photos I have taken here are at www.fergsfotos.com

Employment is difficult but is available with patience. The College of the Siskiyous is in Weed, about 50 miles from Etna, but with a Yreka campus about half that distance. Oregon is close by, and include Medford which has an airport a Costco store and also a VA clinic. There are no sales taxes in Oregon, so many in this county routinely go up there to do large scale shopping.
