The cost of living index for homes listed here is 62, while all others is still near what it is for most other cities I've lived.. at around 90. So the grocery, gas.. health.. is not that drastic. But, I did research neighborhoods, and found a fairly nice size home, that needed TLC , in a fairly decent, north end neighborhood. It was livable. Will need some work over a period of time to restore. But is roomy, has a nice size yard, a view of the mountains, no city traffic, fresh air, and the economy here isn't terrible. So I am very happy. A few of my neighbors have lived here forever, and do not take to "newbies" well, but I can take that. :) I really like not having all the traffic and sirens and heavy air. Also, I am just about 7 miles from Lake Pueblo, I love all that open space, the boating opportunity, the trails. Really, this place is a nice find. I think the complaints on here are to steer new comers away. :) lol It's a ploy to keep it pristine and prevent over crowding. I love it here.
