I've visited Houston and do not understand the comparison between Dallas and Houston. I looked everywhere in Houston and was not impressed. From overrated Sugarland to Katy, up to the Woodlands and everything in between. When I drove down the roads, there was more trash. The roads look like crap, all crumbling. I goto Dallas and everywhere you have sidewalks, cement roads, grassy medians, Houston doesn't. Houston, all I saw were run down shopping centers, next to new subdivisions, then trailor parks to that. whats with all the ugly electric lines everywhere? The people were more laid back but seemed more trashy. A lot more blue collar. I didn't feel safe in Houston, the demeanor of people was questionable. Can someone explain how Houston and Dallas are so much alike? I sure didn't see it. From what I saw, Houston is a lot more run down, poor zoning, horrible curb appeal. Someone tell me what I'm missing? Isn't Houston one of the fattest cities in the US? Worst ozone? Worst traffic? Yeah you can get a cheap house, but what part of town and neighborhood? Someone please explain what the big deal is with Houston? how is it so much better than Dallas? I sure as hell didn't see it? And no, I don't live in Dallas.

I lived in Houston for over 9 years and grew up in Texas. There is absolutely nothing I miss about Houston. I would move to any other large city in Texas before Houston. The zoning definitely messed up the city...among other things. If you love giant roaches, lots of rain and humidity...well Houston is your town. Your impression of Dallas vs. Houston is correct.

Houston is a complete cesspool. Stay away at all costs.. I've been here for 11 years, only because I work for HP, and have been trying to transfer for years now. Cant wait to leave this POS city

don't move here - the place is a cesspool filled with a criminal element composed of all classes that splays it's negative filth over every interaction you will have I have been here 4 years (leaving next week - thank god)and at first what I though was a bizarre regional cultural twist has revealed itself for what a is - a dull congenitally deformed populace with a deep hatred of anyone who isn't a mirror reflection of their self aggrandizing spite

You are nor along. I moved to Houston 7 years ago , and I am still asking myself why did I make that stupid decision. This is a dead city. I read a comment about the great museums, and other places. I don't see any of that. There is nothing, nothing to do.
