Review of Prospect, Kentucky

Prospect, KY - General comments
Star Rating - 4/16/2006
Everything is relative as the saying goes, but we transplanted here from Germantown, TN (which we loved)to Prospect, KY (suburb of Louisville). We find the people are not as friendly, the drivers are full of road rage, and the natives are very provincial and not tolerant of transplants. We are worried about the quality of the public schools, although we moved to what was written up as the best school district in the Louisville area. We make fun of the fact that all the local gourmet restaurants can be found on one road - Bardstown Rd. They are very snobbish here about how they keep the Derby tickets in the hands of the natives so they can resell them for a handsome profit to non-residents. We are taxed to death here (very high vehicle registration fees, high property taxes, TAXES on all insurance etc.) and can't quite figure out where the money is going. We will be leaving the state as soon as our daughter graduates from High School.
