Review of Montrose, Colorado

Visit- yes / live in Montrose- NO!
Star Rating - 6/23/2018
Montrose may be surrounded by great outdoor opportunities but that is only the real positive. High utility rates, higher than national average in home prices, gas, and food coupled to a town with very few decent employment possibilities. Climate is definitely on the chilly side for 6 months and access to a wider selection of goods and services unfortunately is 65 miles away in Grand Junction. People here are civil but not overly friendly, and there is a hardcore drug problem that taken root. Spend 2-3 weeks here in September when the weather is warm and dry and the changing colors are at their peak...and then leave. Montrose is mostly sub par.
