Review of Claymont, Delaware

Poised to be great
Star Rating - 4/21/2019
I moved here from Delco, and have been here about 8 years. Claymont is a funny
area in that it much cheaper to live here then Delco, there are some drawbacks.

1. No local police. Because there are no local police, they don't seem to know the
repeat offenders and you see a lot of nonsense (like kids on dirtbikes, house parties or just trashy repeat offenders that usually would get flagged in smaller municipalities).
2. The schools would be better if they were smaller. The districts are equivalent in size to 3 districts in Delco. Which means you may have 2 nice areas get infected by one bad district.
3. Still stubborn pockets of low income and section 8. While a lot of this has changed with the Darley Green development, there are still some stubborn areas that are clinging on, but they may be on the outs too as the land becomes valuable.
