Hi,

I am the Economic Dev. Director for the City of Canton Texas and I just wanted you all to know that your population is wrong we had a study done and completed for the City of Canton in 2004 and the population was changed and approved by the State of Texas to 5,147

I would appreciate if you all change this on your report.

Ms. Rushing's population figure is grossly wrong. The City "Fathers" paid for a bogus number through an unethical letter contract by requesting a study to result in a number greater than 5,000. This was in an attempt to get a Home Rule election qualified. We shall see when the 2010 Census results are in, that Canton is less than 4,000 in population.

The "true" population of Canton, Texas is probably no more than about 3,600....
