Review of Pinehurst, North Carolina

Native with Mixed feelings
Star Rating - 9/18/2022
I've lived here all my life, born and raised. This area is and will always be known for golf but we also have a really big horse community. The area is a well know retirement area but more and more military families have moved to the area as well which we can thank for the high influx in population as well as an even higher cost of living. I personally miss the smalltown charm and feel the area used to have and think we've had a premature rapid growth. Example, The Village of Pinehurst was not meant to have so much growth, it takes away from its exclusivity and allure. The good thing about all this new growth is all the new businesses and jobs it has created/provided not to mention the variety in restaurants (which we have so many I can't keep up with them) and shopping. There is also now a decent bar scene and more extracurricular activates to watch or participate in. I have chosen to stay here, even though I said I'd leave once I got older, but the area has turned out to be a great place to raise my son and the schools are really great not to mention all the new ones they've finally built. This is a really great area, but I'd prefer it not to be as populated as it is now so stay away :-)
