Pajaro Dunes is virtually protected by a moat, but yet the area has a high property theft problem. Two hours ago we had two employees break into our unit (Pelican 55) , they had a key. Once they came inside they realized that they got caught in the act and took off, I don't mean they walked away, they made a very hasty retreat and ran. Property Managment blew it off like it was just a mistake. I say the burglary is probably an inside job because any staff can take a key for my unit and gain entry without anybody else knowing about it. The key for my unit is not secured in a locker, not signed out through somebody else. Any Pajaro Dunes employee can come into my rented unit unannounced while I'm out on the beach or at the store, and take wallets, jewelry or whatever their pleasure. I was violated, Pajaro Dunes got caught, they blew it off, I won't be back.
