Massachusetts as a whole is not a good place to live unless money is not an issue for you. It's very expensive here. Fitchburg is no exception even though it's very slummy and full of drugs and crime and apt bldgs that are falling apart. The rents here are crazy. As a single parent I find myself paying 1400 a month for a mold infested 3 bedroom apt in a city that is considered to be inexpensive. It's unfortunate people have to live like this. I'm finally leaving MA as soon as I can find a decent place to move to.
