Review of Millcreek, Utah

Quaint, quiet but close to everything
Star Rating - 2/23/2018
Millcreek is a small bedroom community of metro Salt Lake In the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. There are two canyons which can be accessed from within the city. Parleys canyon is the I-80 freeway access to head east out of Utah as well as to reach Park City. The other canyon is Millcreek Canyon. It is well known for its great hiking in the summer and snowshoeing or cross country skiing in the winter.
The city has one high school within its boundaries. But the students are served by three high schools. The majority of homes are single family dwellings with small apartment complexes scattered throughout.
The city is divided into four communities with community councils and one city government representative in each. It is a mayor council form of government. This gives each community quick response from city government.
There are shopping opportunities scattered throughout the city along most major streets. The city has everything from Walmart to small eclectic boutiques. Most of what you need is within two or three miles of home.
Dining establishments range from small family owned restaurants to franchised well known fast food. You can find any kind of ethnic food you are interested in.
The weather is varied because there are all four seasons. Summer temperatures reach highs of 100+ for two or three days each year but are mostly in the 80’s or 90’s. Winters are mostly in the 30’s or 40’s with sub freezing temps 10 or so days each year. The city can see large accumulations of snow but the street plows are quick and no home or business is “snowed in” for more than a few hours ever.
Millcreek has a lot to offer families looking for a great community vibe to raise children. There are wonderful new business opportunities within the city boundaries. All in all it is a great place to live or work.
