Interlachen is a historical town with a small population. Great place to retire or enjoy a slower pace of life. There has not been growth in sometime, however, the state is in the process of having a 4 lane highway on State Road 20. It is an Indian name that means between the lakes. The many lakes have made it a very popular getaway for water sports and fishing. Many of the old historical homes were hotels back in the day before the big freeze that killed the citrus. Many politicians often stayed in this quaint town. The railroad played an important role at one time in Interlachen.
