What a great way to live!

Moved from central Florida, first to Durham, then Carrboro and finally have settled here in Saxapahaw. If you like feeling like you're really a part of the community, this is the place to be. The Haw river runs through "town", which consists of a gas station, beauty & tanning salon, police sub-station, charter school, rivermill loft apartments, a post office, public school and churches. The general store also has a cafe with unexpectedly good food. Not your normal grilled cheese and fries. We have two dogs and Mr. Jordan, who owns the property we rent, has opened up his field (meadow) to all of us dog owners. A few of us meet up on Saturday mornings where we can turn the dogs loose to run flat out, play and just generally have a wonderful time. It gives us a nice opportunity to socialize with our neighbors as well. It really is a lovely place to live.
