Amazing amenities, but at a price

San Diego county has almost anything one could want in a reasonable proximity. Outdoor activities like hiking, biking, running, swimming, snorkeling, and even surfing are within a 50 mile radius. La Mesa is a centrally located area of east county, with proximtiy to downtown, far east county, and the coast. The cost of living seems very high here, and the density is high so even though we are a suburb of San Diego, it feels very urban, with ever present sounds of traffic, airplanes, trains, and helicopters that remind you that you live in an urban envronment.
