Review of Angleton, Texas

Angleton Small Town Life
Star Rating - 6/29/2020
I've lived in Angleton since 2006 and it's grown on me, I'm originally from Galveston. I feel Angleton needs a decent review and a honest one. This is small town life and the people are friendly. There are not many places to go or things to do in Angleton, but Lake Jackson is 13 miles away and they have a nice mall, theater, and many restuarants. I like the fact that traffic is low and you don't have to drive far to get most places. Houston is only 1 hour away and Houston has so much to do and see, the beach is 20-30 min. away. Angleton just recently built a new high school that's beautiful with new baseball fields and a football stadium with a park. It's so nice! Every year we have the Brazoria Cnty. Fair & Rodeo, and the people here LOVE high school football. Once or twice a year we have Angleton Market Days which is filled with booths, food trucks, etc.... Angleton is a clean place as you don't see trash around. Now, for the cons, it's pretty boring most of the time, shopping leaves much to be desired. So, you will need to run over to Lake Jackson for that. The housing prices for Angleton seem to be on the high side and I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's due to the chemical plants such as Dow where many people work on the coast around Freeport. There is only a couple of decent apartment homes here too. I feel the town doesn't support local businesses enough as many have come and gone. It's not a materialistic place or it doesn't seem to be that way to me. Summers can be hot and uncomfortable, winters are mild most of the time. If you have a Mosquito problem call Brazoria Cnty. Mosquito Control and they will send a truck out to spray your neighborhood. Well, I hope this helps someone to make a decision to move here or not. Be blessed!
