Please...... I lived in and was a police officer in a major city. Look at the statistics in some other cities. Some cities could have that many homicides in a matter of weeks (especially if there are gang wars or drugs involved). And though the vandalizing and destruction of abandon houses was one of the most asinine things I have seen in my many years, it does not compare with some of the major crime elsewhere. Flint has problems...true, but name me a city that doesn't. Flint also has many amazing things to love. The state has amenities and provisions for its people that are taken for granted that you would not find in most other states. Too much bad press from the media and from the residents that talk down their own city. This has been disappointing to me. I moved to Flint, bought a home here, and is starting a business "here". Oh, and my water is clean. I've paid to have it tested by an independent lab. If you don't live here your view is skewed by the sensations of the news. And if you do live here, it is time to stop running the city down and find a way to contribute to its recovery.
