Review of Pine Mountain Club, California

Much much better than Bert’s review
Star Rating - 8/30/2020
Great, small mountain community. Fresh mountain air, not crowded, very affordable compared to Southern Cal. Do not compare with Bakersfield, which is an hour away, and 5,000 feet lower in elevation. Our temps are 18-22 degrees cooler, clean air, and you can see tons of stars at night, every night. Sizable retired population, but telecommuters growing in this clean, quiet community. We are a private club association; $135 monthly. Pros: private security, mostly common sense rules deter trashy houses with junk cars, no gangs, graffiti or litter. Clubhouse (very casual) with ok dining, lounge, live music, and lots of special events. Cons: Added cost if you’re antisocial, or on a super tight budget. Snow an issue if unused to dealing with it. Deer and bear sightings not unusual. Lots of hiking in immediate area. Lots of social groups. Most everyone moved here from somewhere else, so not so clique. True four seasons, tall trees, friendly, helpful people. We love it here!
