safest city. my butt

I have lived here all my life and I can honest say that this city is NOT the safest place to live... there are just as much drugs and murders here as there are in a lot of other cities and states.. a sex offender lives in every neighborhood (or sometimes more than 1 in each neighborhood) As far as the population increasing ..... that is only because of the two prisons that we have here in the Elmira area and all the prisoners families have moved her and brought the trouble with them. The school are pretty good now that the Superintendent has changed.. the last two Supers ran the school district down... It is slowly coming back now with Joe H. The only jobs here are retail or Correctional officers and that is NOT a job for everyone. If it wasn't for my mother still being here ...I WOULD BE GONE IN A HEARTBEAT! Elmira stinks!!
