American Canyon A Big Step Up!

I am a long time resident, (approx. 25 years), & I initially moved out here when this was considered "out in the Boonies".
Having grown up mostly in Vallejo, and having attended Vallejo schools, but when my eldest was ready to start high school, I also moved here in part due to less expensive rental properties, & later, better home prices. I also moved here, also in part because I didn't want my kids to go through what I did, at Vallejo's public junior & senior high schools.
(Not that I regret my having been raised in Vallejo, you have to become street savvy at a young age, it grew up in a great melting pot of people, with the many ethnicities that reside there.
I have to say, I have never even unhappy about that decision. The public school's here are on par with parochial schools in most places, with zero tolerance for violence, & programs that educate & encourage students to respect individual's differences, such as race, sexual preference's, etc. The town has become much more culturally diverse, & there seems to be less prejudice here than in any place I've ever seen. There are few places that are not safe, so having to know your way around isn't as pressing for safety reasons as it is in many other larger places, but its always wise to be on the side of caution, & become educated about which areas may not be as safe as others, but they really are very few "bad" areas in American Canyon. (Having also both lived & worked in Napa, I'd have to say that I feel much safer here, since the touristy "Wine Country" area is far from the majority in Napa. The gang problems there are much more prevalent
there. I feel lucky to have stumbled into American Canyon long ago, I can't think of a better place to live or raise a family.
