Review of Columbia Falls, Montana

Blue collar town
Star Rating - 7/4/2008
Columbia Falls is a very laid back blue collar sort of town. There is a wonderful ski resort less than 15 miles away, lakes & rivers only short driving distances away, and wonderful vistas to see while hiking in Glacier National Park just to the east. The summers are sunny and generally fairly low humidity. And winters are usually mild. There is only one drive in available in the northern valley, multiple casinos abound, and if you want more than groceries or the local hardware store, you better plan on driving about 15 miles to the south to shop in Kalispell. We have a bowling alley, but the movie theaters are also located 7-15 miles away. New housing developments are going in all the time, but it is still just a small town....
If you want major shopping, performing arts, etc.... don't look here! Plan on a 4 hour drive to Spokane, Washington! But if you love the mountains, and being outside, this place is perfect....

Are they Mormon builder like the ones that built my house in Hurricane that couldn't even follow local or national building codes. Washington county Utah needs to be condemned. What's even worse is the local governments knew as did the state. It sounds like the place that one could call home. The odd thing with the Mormons is the church owns and runs over a 1000 liquor stores but the ward house level people are told it's a sin to drink, or gamble, or smoke. The holy undergarments are made of nomex which should not be worn against the skin.
