Review of Hastings, Michigan

Hastings/Barry County is the hidden gem of the Midwest. Dense pine forests, beautiful lakes, wildlife...turkey, deer, horses, can be seen while driving along the backroads. Yankee Springs State Park has camping, beaches, and trails that provide hours of family fun. Pierce Creek Institute has beautiful paths and friendly informative events for kids and adults. Cute shops, such as Al Fresco, and fabulous dining, such as Walldorff Brewery, provide hungry travelers with many options for lunch and dinner. A quick coffee at State Grounds before a stroll on the Thornapple River bridge. Ice-Cream at the fountain or a movie at the quaint town cinema is always an option for a lazy day. A drive to the edge of town to Charlton Park, turn-of-the-century historic village never disappoints. It is impossible to be bored in Hastings.
