Review of Chesterfield, Missouri

Chesterfield is a suburb of St.Louis. Commonly referred to as West County Area. It is an upscaled section of St. Louis that has not been affected by the inter city crime. Property values have continued to grow with the economy. It is a great place to purchase your home if you want to see equity grow. Downside, properties are probably overpriced a little but there is very little risk to your investment.

very little risk for the time being. STL has been in white flight since the '60's. I think it's overpriced and overrated. Some areas have relief and woods, others are plain depressing.

I just found this site and would like some more views of whether or not moving to this town would be beneficial. My husband has about a 90% chance of being transferred to Chesterfield for his job. I on the other hand would have to find another source of income. Will this be a problem for me in the near future. I am a Treasurer/Financial officer for the company I currenty work for. We have been looking for someplace closer to where we frequent several times a year for our hobby of jeeping and rock crawling, but I seem to be getting mixed vibes form the remarks I have read about living in or near Chesterfield. I was born in Kentucky, (my parents moved back home 14 years ago) but have lived outside of the Chicago since I was four. I am 46 and my husband is 53. All of our children are out of high School and we are looking for a place that is more laid back and less of the Chicago rat race, but now I am concerned if this will be a good choice for us. Any remarks are helpful.
